Palacio de Bellas Artes, Mexico

The Palacio de Bellas Artes (Palace of Fine Arts) is a prominent cultural center in Mexico City, located in the western side of the historic center near Alameda Central. It houses performance venues, art galleries, and hosts literary, musical, and visual arts events. The building is notable for its architecture combining Art Nouveau and Art Deco styles, and for its major murals by Mexico's leading muralists such as Diego Rivera and David Alfaro Siqueiros. Because of its cultural importance, it is often called the "art cathedral" of Mexico.
