Statue of Liberty, United States

The Statue of Liberty is a colossal neoclassical sculpture on Liberty Island in New York Harbor, USA. It was dedicated in 1886 as a gift from France to the United States to commemorate friendship and celebrate freedom and democracy. The statue depicts Libertas, the Roman goddess of freedom, holding a torch above her head and a tablet inscribed with July 4, 1776. It has since become a universal symbol of freedom and a welcoming sight to immigrants arriving by sea. Visitors can access the pedestal and crown (with advance reservation) and explore the museum inside.
