Kobe Port Tower, Japan

Kobe Port Tower is an iconic red lattice structure that serves as a landmark for the city of Kobe. Its unique hyperboloid design is inspired by a traditional Japanese drum called a tsuzumi. Standing at 108 meters tall, the tower offers a 360-degree observation deck with stunning views of the Rokko Mountains, the city skyline, and the busy Osaka Bay. The surrounding Meriken Park is a pleasant waterfront area featuring modern art installations and the Kobe Maritime Museum. At night, the tower is illuminated with thousands of LED lights, making it a centerpiece of the harbor's evening scenery. It represents Kobe's recovery and modernization as a major international port city after the Great Earthquake.
